Little Things

“I don’t know who is the author of this. I found it during research for blogs found it very inspiring so just posting it with the original link below”.

There was a man taking a morning walk at or the beach. He saw that along with the morning tide came hundreds of starfish and when the tide receded, they were left behind and with the morning sun rays, they would die. The tide was fresh and the starfish were alive. The man took a few steps, picked one and threw it into the water. He did that repeatedly. Right behind him there was another person who couldn’t understand what this man was doing. He caught up with him and asked, “What are you doing? There are hundreds of starfish. How many can you help? What difference does it make?” This man did not reply, took two more steps, picked up another one, threw it into the water, and said, “It makes a difference to this one.”

What difference are we making? Big or small, it does not matter. If everyone made a small difference, we’d end up with a big difference, wouldn’t we?

It is the little things that make a big difference

From the beginning I am too talking about the little things. What is in an inspiration if you don’t inspire by small things first?

I was at my sister’s place, she asked me about my next inspiration. I told her that I wrote about Aakanksha Singh. She asked “do you know about her life, her story?” (she meant to say that did she face many difficulties & suffered a lot, then became an actress). My reply was “No, but I wrote about her because of her writing skills.”

My sister’s question made me think “is it necessary that someone a very famous personality (who was gone through critical situations, suffered so much in life and then became a famous one) has to be your inspiration. A simple, ordinary human being can’t be an inspiration”.

Why, why is that so? Because we ignore these little but valuable things in life and run towards shine & glitter. Yeah I agree that most of the famous personalities lives have messages for us, but we also can’t ignore simple human beings. Their lives too can enlighten our lives. Everything happens for a reason and everyone has something great.

So enjoy little things 🙂
